Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou recently stated that he would like to fight Deontay Wilder in Africa on the 50th anniversary of the historic "Rumble in the Jungle" fight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman.

Ngannou's desire to compete against Wilder on this anniversary in Africa is notable and suggests that he is eager to make a statement in the world of combat sports. This potential matchup between two highly skilled and powerful fighters will likely generate significant excitement among fans of both boxing and MMA.

'The Predator' has wasted no time in challenging the 'Bronze Bomber' to a fight after Wilder announced that he is now a free agent. Ngannou has expressed a strong desire to compete against Deontay Wilder in the boxing ring.

During a recent interview with ESPN's Brett Okamoto, Francis Ngannou revealed that:

"The most that we have spoken with Deontay Wilder team, yes we've been having some exchanges at basically come into some sort of this Rebel agreement that we want to fight each other."

The former 'Baddest Man on the Planet' further added:

"I think in August next year it's the 50th anniversary of the Rumble in Jungle and I think that would be an opportunity to do something massive in Africa."

Both Francis Ngannou and Deontay Wilder are currently without promotional contracts and are seeking opportunities to compete in the boxing ring. As two of the most formidable fighters in the heavyweight division, their free agent status has generated significant interest and speculation about potential matchups against other fighters.

Francis Ngannou remarked that he will accept contracts that pay less than what the UFC offered

Francis Ngannou is now a free agent, having recently left the UFC and vacated his heavyweight title. Following Ngannou's departure, UFC president Dana White claimed that the fighter turned down a lucrative contract, breaking previous records.

However, Ngannou has since clarified that his career decisions won't be solely based on money. The former heavyweight champion seems to prioritize factors other than financial gain, such as his own personal goals, competition, and overall growth as a fighter. Ngannou's statement suggests that he is looking for the right opportunity to take his career to the next level and that he is open to exploring all options.

The Cameroonian native spoke to MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn recently and stated:

"The money is very important obviously but as I said, the structure, the approach, the term of the contract... is even more important. So I will not disclose anything and someone could be more than what I have turned down, someone could be less, but I wouldn't be surprised.

He further added:

"I mean I get excited about a contract which is less what I get. Because honestly, I see more value in that contract which is not financially [superior] but still have value for me as a person. I've been seeking for a value you know."
