The infamous Duke Lacrosse case involved a criminal accusation in which Crystal Magnum falsely accused three members of the Dukes University Men's lacrosse team of raping her. All three students were eventually declared innocent and were seen as victims of a tragic rush to accuse due to the racial identities of both the alleged accuser and the accused.

Despite DNA tests revealing no evidence of assault, Magnum continued to accuse the three students of raping her until she recently admitted that she had made false accusations against them. Since 2013, she has been serving a prison sentence for the second-degree murder of her boyfriend, Reginald Daye.

Magnum's recent admission has led to widespread criticism. United States President-elect Donald Trump also reacted to her comments and slammed her for "destroying the lives of young men."

Conor McGregor says he will pursue "defamatory writings" against him

An Irish court recently found Conor McGregor liable for a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in December 2018. The court ordered him to pay €248,000 to the victim, Nikita Hand. It's important to note that McGregor is not facing criminal charges and has not been accused of rape. Throughout the widely publicized trial and after the court's decision, the Irishman maintained that the sexual encounter was consensual.

The former UFC double champion has expressed frustration with how the media covered the case. In a recent social media post, he promised to take action against those who he believes have spread misinformation:

"I was found liable for assault, and guilty of nothing. I will be pursuing all the defamatory writings about me."
