Ham Seo Hee is excited to fight for the ONE interim atomweight world championship this year.

‘Hamzzang’ earned her third-straight victory inside the Circle after scoring a unanimous decision victory over Japanese star Itsuki Hirata at ONE Fight Night 8. Shortly after having her hand raised, Ham was absolutely floored when ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced that she would next fight for the ONE interim atomweight world title.

Ham Seo Hee’s opponent in an interim world title clash will likely be the winner of Stamp Fairtex vs. Alyse Anderson at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on May 5. In an interview with the South China Morning Post, ‘Hamzzang’ had this to say about a potential matchup with Stamp Fairtex.

“I’m very excited for that,” Ham, the no.2-ranked atomweight contender, said. “Just hearing that really makes me very very excited. In the case that Stamp Fairtex wins, I can already see the type of excitement, and the type of energy that’s going to be in that fight. I can’t wait.”

Stamp Fairtex currently sits atop the atomweight division rankings at No. 1 and is eager to earn an opportunity to dethrone the ‘Unstoppable’ world champion, Angela Lee. She nearly accomplished that goal during their highly entertaining scrap at ONE X in March 2022. But Lee was able to survive an early onslaught and score a second-round submission victory over Fairtex to retain her world title.

Ham Seo Hee believes Stamp Fairtex will come out on top against Alyse Anderson

Ham Seo Hee thinks that when she fights for the ONE interim atomweight world title later this year, it will likely be against fan-favorite Stamp Fairtex.

“In all honesty, I'm not too familiar with Alyse Anderson as an athlete at ONE Championship. But I have watched many, many of Stamp's fights. Based on my understanding of the two fighters, I expect Stamp to be victorious.”

Stamp Fairtex is undeniably the favorite heading into her ONE Fight Night 10 bout with ‘Lil Savage’ but it would be a mistake to completely look past Alyse Anderson. Anderson earned her opportunity to take on Stamp with an impressive first-round submission of Asha Roka at ONE 157 in May.

Stamp, of course, requires no introduction. Before winning the ONE Atomweight World Grand Prix tournament in 2021, Stamp was a two-sport ONE world champion, winning the atomweight kickboxing and Muay Thai world titles in back-to-back bouts.

She still aspires to be the first three-sport world champion in ONE Championship history. A win over Alyse Anderson on May 5 could very well set her up with the chance to make promotional history later this year.
