"Happy to fight against Conor Benn" - Amir Khan confused by Kell Brook's anger after positive test

Amir Khan vs Kell Brook Weigh In

Amir Khan's positive drug test has led to yet another back and forth between 'King' and Kell Brook.

Last February, the two former champions finally faced off in England. While this was the first time the two faced off in the ring, it was a long time coming. Khan and Brook had teased that they would one-day clash over a decade prior.

Sadly, the fight itself didn't match the wait. 'Special K' dominated, beating Khan from pillar to post before scoring a merciful sixth-round stoppage win. Following the bout, both men retired as a rarity in the sport. Over a year on from that contest, basically, nothing is the same.

Amir Khan is currently retired but has teased that he could one-day return for an exhibition matchup. That being said, he won't be able to compete until next February, as he was suspended for two years from his last fight by the BBBoC.

Khan reportedly tested positive for ostarine, which naturally caught the ire of Kell Brook. Over the last few days, 'Special K' has blasted his rival as a drug cheat, and stated that he should face a massive fine for the infraction.

In a recent interview with TalkSport, Khan responded to those comments. There, he expressed confusion that Brook was very upset at him, but is willing to unretire to fight Conor Benn, who is currently in his own drug scandal.

“I'm not surprised that he's upset about what happened. Look, but he's still happy to fight against Conor Benn… He won the fight so he shouldn't really be that upset.”

Amir Khan positive drug test: 'King' proclaims innocence

Amir Khan has answered for his positive drug test.

The news of his positive test shocked fans, and likely shocked 'King' as well. The reason is that while his bout with Kell Brook happened last February, he wasn't informed of the positive test until months later.

Furthermore, he wasn't informed until he was already retired from active competition. With that being the case, Khan has admitted that the suspension doesn't mean much to him personally.

However, Amir Khan has proclaimed his innocence, and that he doesn't know how the ostarine got into his system. The former champion stated in an interview with TalkSport:

“I don’t want to hideaway, a lot of people would hideaway when something like this happens. I want to come out and talk about it, what’s happened and obviously it upset me more than anyone... I don’t want this to tarnish my career in any way, I don’t want people thinking ,’you know what you’re a cheat, you was a cheat’.
