Roberto Soldic will make his first walk to the circle this Friday night as part of a stacked ONE on Prime Video 5 lineup. Main evented by a world champion vs. world champion clash between ONE interim heavyweight world champion Anatoly Malykhin and two-division world titleholder Reinier de Ridder, Soldic will get the crowd fired up first with his promotional debut against undefeated Russian grappler Murad Ramazanov.

Just hours away from his historic appearance at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Roberto Soldic spoke to ONE Championship about his early years in the regional circuit, including an early fight with current Bellator welterweight titleholder Yaroslav Amosov:

“I kept going, I won the fights. And then in Russia, I had one fight with Yaroslav Amosov, who is now a Bellator champion, 26-0, I was 5-1 and he was 17-0, and then I lost a split decision. [I got] really small money for this fight, and he now moved near me in Germany, he trained.”

“We are now good friends. It's a very, very high level of wrestling and you know, I just lost from the best guys in the world. Like Yaroslav is one of the best, I can say. He can beat everyone. He’s a very dangerous guy, and we are now friends.”

Roberto Soldic has the support of ONE legend Aung La N Sang

When Roberto Soldic steps into the circle for the very first time this Friday night at ONE on Prime Video 5, he’ll have the support of ONE Championship legend Aung La N Sang. ‘The Burmese Python’ is coming off a big return to the win column at ONE 163, scoring a first-round knockout of Japanese MMA icon Yushin Okami.

Sharing his thoughts on the welterweight showdown between Soldic and his undefeated opponent Murad Ramazanov, Aung La revealed that he is pulling for the Croatian sensation, but couldn’t go as far as to predict that Soldic would come out the winner:

“I mean, I hope Roberto wins. But either way you know, it could go either way. I don’t really, I stopped guessing who’s gonna win because I think ‘oh this guy’s grappling is good, his striking is this good’ but the thing is it’s the fight.”

The stakes will be high for Roberto Soldic and Murad Ramazanov, as the winner will likely find themselves in line for a shot at newly crowned welterweight world champion Christian Lee.
