Former two-division champ Henry Cejudo recently showed interest in fighting Sean O'Malley for a potential interim title. O'Malley is fresh-off a controversial split-decision victory over top contender Petr Yan at UFC 280.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, 'Triple C' posted:
"Hey @danawhite since Denzel Sterling [Aljamain Sterling] wants to work on his rap career (He can be called Lil Power) How about Me Vs Ronald MethDonald@SugaSeanMMA for an interim [title] in Australia? I’m short so I’m used to being Down Under. "🏆🏆🏆

Appearing on a recent edition of The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, the No.1-ranked bantamweight was asked about his thoughts on the callout made by the former champ,
In response, 'Sugar' jested that Cejudo currently has "thirty-seven dollars in his bank" and is therefore trying to book the fight in an attempt to make money:
"That dude [Cejudo] is... I heard from someone close to Henry [Cejudo] that he's got like thirty-seven dollars in the bank. He's literally just trying to do anything to get some money... trying to book a fight... Even if he and 'Aljo' [Sterling] go fight, they'll probably be some co-main event."

Daniel Cormier on who is more deserving of a title shot between Sean O'Malley and Henry Cejudo
On a recent episode of his podcast 3 Rounds with DC!, Daniel Cormier discussed who should receive the next bantamweight title opportunity.
Cormier is of the view that O'Malley has a better chance of getting a title shot despite a controversial win against Petr Yan. The Hall of Famer said:
"I would consider making Sterling's next fight Sean [O'Malley], right now. Yesterday, on DC & RC, I said it's going to be Henry Cejudo and I believe that because Sean O'Malley's gonna need some time to recover because that was a war against Petr Yan [at UFC 280]."
'DC' added:
"I still would think about making this guy next [O'Malley] because regardless of what you feel and how you feel the fight was judged, at the end of the day, Sean O'Malley got his hand raised... For the sport, Henry Cejudo, as the guy who left as a double champion should be next...but I think it's more than likely to be Sean O'Malley."
