Khamzat Chimaev is a highly regarded mixed martial arts fighter in the UFC who has yet to taste defeat in his professional career. However, his last scheduled fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 279 was canceled due to his failure to meet the required weight, coming in 7.5 pounds overweight.

As a result of the weight miss, Chimaev was booked to fight Kevin Holland in a catchweight bout at 180 pounds. The fight went in Chimaev's favor, with him submitting his opponent in the first round and securing another victory to his impressive record.

'Borz' didn't seem remorseful for missing weight by 7.5 pounds at UFC 279, and some fans believe the entire event was scripted to generate interest in a lackluster card. During an interview with Joe Rogan, Chimaev even flipped off the crowd as they booed.

Although Khamzat Chimaev's weight miss was significant, it did not deter his determination to succeed in the UFC. He has expressed a desire to compete in both the welterweight and middleweight divisions, taking on the best fighters in both categories. His ambitions include facing the winner of the highly anticipated welterweight title fight between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman, who is set to headline UFC 286 on March 18.

Khamzat Chimaev's highly anticipated return: The countdown begins

Khamzat Chimaev has been eager to make his return to the UFC after being out of action since September 2022. 'Borz' recently announced a timeline for his comeback, although he did not reveal the exact date.

In a recent post on his Instagram account, Chimaev shared that he will be returning to the octagon after the holy month of Ramadan, which is observed by Muslims worldwide as a time of prayer, reflection, and fasting. While he didn't provide a specific date, the announcement has certainly created excitement among his fans, who have been eagerly waiting to see him back in action.

Chimaev posted:

"We’ll be back after Ramadan Insha’Allah."

Ramadan, the month-long period of fasting from dawn to sunset observed by Muslims around the world, is set to begin on the evening of March 22. The holy month is traditionally marked by prayer, reflection, and acts of charity, as well as the daily fasts. The fasts are broken each evening at sunset with a meal known as iftar. Ramadan is expected to end on the evening of April 22, with the celebration of Eid-al-Fit.
