Jake Paul attended the World Boxing Association (WBA) Centennial convention in Orlando, Florida this week. 'The Problem Child' met and interacted with some of the best boxers in the sport, including the likes of Dmitry Bivol. During the convention, in a surprise move, the association decided to award the YouTuber turned boxer a world title belt.

Paul was dumbfounded when he received the belt since he was not expecting it. After receiving the belt, the YouTuber turned boxer stated:

"I feel like I haven't earned this yet though. I feel like I have to actually fight for this. This isn't mine yet, I'm gonna use it as motivation."

Jake Paul began his boxing journey back in 2018 when he fought KSI's younger brother Deji on the same card as 'The Nightmare' and Logan Paul. Since then, he has surpassed both his brother and his British arch-rival in terms of fights and success in the ring. 'The Problem Child' is currently unbeaten in six professional fights and has beaten the likes of Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva.

Paul has aspirations to become world champion one day and has called out Canelo Alvarez multiple times. Paul stated that he wants to challenge the Mexican for his belt in a few years.

Unbeaten British boxer criticizes the WBA for awarding Jake Paul a belt when he has not got a title shot yet

Archie Sharp, an unbeaten British boxer with 22 wins under his belt, has called out the WBA for awarding Jake Paul with a world title. Sharp has held the WBO European junior-lightweight title since 2018 and claims he has placed himself in the top spot but he is not getting a shot at the world title. He expressed his frustrations on Twitter:

"Jake paul gets a belt in the WBA I stay loyal to the @WorldBoxingOrg @PacoValcarcel place my self at number 1 and still fighters get pushed infront of me for the world title shot"

Jake Paul has technically not fought a professional boxer yet. He was set to fight Hasim Rahman Jr. earlier this year, but the fight was called off due to contract issues regarding the weight. Sharp was frustrated to see how 'The Problem Child' received a belt before him when he has been working for years to get himself to where he is.
