Sinsamut Klinmee knows he will be at a height disadvantage against promotional newcomer Youssef Assouik at ONE Fight Night 25: Nicolas vs Eersel II on Prime Video this coming Friday.
As such, he already made ample preparations to deal with his opponent's towering height and reach.
Luckily for 'Aquaman', he didn't need to go far to find the perfect fighter to emulate the Danish-Moroccan skyscraper.
Sinsamut, after all, trains on a daily basis with 6-foot-4 bantamweight Muay Thai contender Nabil Anane at Venum Training Camp.
The former lightweight Muay Thai world title challenger told ONE Championship in an exclusive interview:
"He is indeed taller than me. So I sparred with Nabil [Anane] a lot. Because Nabil is a tall fighter like him. To fight with a taller fighter, I need to fight at a close distance because I will be at a disadvantage on the outside."
It will certainly be wise for Sinsamut to bridge the gap early and often and not allow Assouik to get comfortable from long range. Plus, it's a bonus that the Thai heavy-hitter thrives in creating chaos up close, which we've seen in his highlight-worthy knockouts in ONE.
Sinsamut says Youssef Assouik lacks power
While Sinsamut admits it's going to be tricky to get past Youssef Assouik's length, he's not concerned at all about his opponent's power or lack thereof.
In the same interview with ONE, the 28-year-old finisher said he doubts the Assouik Gym standout could finish him.
"His strengths are his knees and hands because he has long limbs, while his weaknesses are that his attacks are weak."
On the contrary, we know the head-hunting Sinsamut packs a ton of firepower and would love nothing more than to secure another wild knockout on Oct.4 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
ONE Fight Night 25 will air live in US Primetime free of charge for Prime Video subscribers in North America.
