British striker Freddie Haggerty absorbed his first defeat in ONE Championship in his last outing. He, however, had no regrets, knowing fully that he fought well and gave his best.
The 20-year-old Knowlesy Academy/Team Underground representative locked horns with fellow rising star Jordan Estupinan in January at ONE 170 in a flyweight Muay Thai scrap, losing by decision.
He had himself a battle against his Colombian opponent, even getting knocked down twice in the second round. But Haggerty showed no quit, continued to bring the fight to Estupinan, and took the match to a full route.
Asked by the South China Morning Post for his thoughts on his last match, Freddie Haggerty shared that while he would have wanted to have gotten a win, the defeat nonetheless allowed him to get to know himself better as a fighter and gave insights on what he still needed to improve on.
