Ken Shamrock has been through many wars in his MMA career. One of his greatest fights was against Don Frye in 2002 at Pride 19.

While speaking with VladTV, 'The World's Most Dangerous Man' reflected on his bout with 'The Predator' and mentioned that nobody hit him as hard as the former UFC tournament winner did when they met inside the ring:

"I've never been knocked out, ever been knocked out... I recovered and put him in an ankle lock, and broke his ankle. So it was damage done by both people, but I've never been hit that hard. And so, both of us are really tough and it's gonna take a lot more than one or two things to put us out, we're gonna keep coming no matter what, and that's what we did in that fight and it took a lot out of us."

It was a close fight that saw Frye earn a split-decision win. There was a lot of animosity between the two UFC Hall of Famers, which was apparent during the buildup. Shamrock mentioned that 'The Predator' apologized after the fight for crossing the line in the buildup:

"He actually attacked my father, he said some things about my father, and he knew that was out of bounds. And so for him to come up and do that and say, 'Hey, I'm sorry. I went too far.' That's a first-class man, he knew it went too far."

Both fighters were arguably never the same after that fight and the trajectory of their respective careers proved it. 'The World's Most Dangerous Man' went 1-4 in the five fights that followed, while Frye went 1-3-1.

Ken Shamrock and Don Frye buried the hatchet

Ken Shamrock and Don Frye have since buried the hatchet and have become friends since their legendary encounter at Pride 19.

Shamrock told VladTV that they are on great terms with one another:

"Me and him [Don Frye] are really good, we're cool. But I really appreciated that because sometimes you get in the middle of these things and you say things that you shouldn't say. So it's really cool that when you do that, you know it and you tell him, 'Hey brother, I went past the line man.'"

The former UFC Superfight champion has even been a guest on Frye's podcast, Toxic Masculinity, which he hosts with UFC Hall of Famer Dan Severn. The podcast episode gave fans an opportunity to hear the three MMA pioneers share stories of competing during the early years of the UFC.
