A former UFC light heavyweight champion was not impressed by Jon Jones' Instagram post displaying his weight training. The fighter compared Jones' training to UFC legend Chuck Liddell's sessions and mentioned that he had watched 'The Iceman' surpass Jones in this regard.
Jones is currently grinding hard for his UFC 309 encounter against Stipe Miocic. It is going to be his first appearance inside the octagon since his UFC 295 fight where he bagged the heavyweight gold.
A recent Instagram post from Jones displayed him going for bench presses and bent-over rows with 100-pound dumbbells during one of his sessions.
However, Quinton Jackson belittled Jones' efforts, saying that he had witnessed Liddell lift even more weight during his training sessions:
"I’ve seen Chuck lift more"
Jackson and Jones clashed inside the octagon at UFC 135 in 2011 with the UFC light heavyweight gold on the line. 'Bones' submitted 'Rampage' with a rear-naked choke in the fourth round of their fight.
Since then, Jackson has fired several shots at Jones' fighting technique and usage of oblique kicks. The latest comment may be another jibe at his former rival.
Jon Jones was enthralled by Joe Rogan naming him as one of the greatest UFC fighters
Joe Rogan talked to Donald Trump about a plethora of topics during the ex-POTUS' visit to his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. The duo also discussed a few UFC matters during which Rogan highlighted Jon Jones' name as one of the best in the promotion's history.
Jones was thoroughly pleased after noticing Rogan's praise for him and expressed his pleasure with a post on X that read:
"What a great time to be alive"
