UFC presenter and world-renowned podcaster Joe Rogan recently showered praise on Deontay Wilder on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

The comedian spoke at length about Wilder’s skills and named him the most formidable heavyweight apart from Tyson Fury and even gave his take on the first fight between the two heavyweight boxers:

“Wilder nukes everybody, if it wasn’t for Tyson Fury, like who knows? Wilder might’ve beaten the rest of ‘em [heavyweight boxers]. He might nuke ‘em all. Tyson Fury’s just got his number man. Especially in that first fight, Wilder almost got him. It looked like he was out, lying flat on his back. Those gypsies are just not the same, not regular people”.

Joe Rogan, an avid pro-boxing fan, referred to how Tyson Fury was almost knocked out in the 12th round of the first fight between 'The Bronze Bomber' and 'The Gypsy King', but rose from the canvas and ended up winning the round. The UFC commentator even said he thinks Deontay Wilder could beat the rest of the heavyweight division, which includes the likes of Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk, and Dillian Whyte. However, he also stated that he thinks that Tyson Fury just knows how to beat Deontay Wilder or, in combat sports terms, "has his number."

Deontay Wilder took to Instagram to let his fans know that his return to the squared circle will be very soon. He said this in the caption of his Instagram post:

“I have been enjoying family, life, and all that it brings, but now it's time to return to the ring. #BombZquad #TilThisDay”.

The Alabama-native’s last fight was a KO win against Robert Helenius in October 2022, where he knocked out his opponent just three minutes into the first round.

Names like Francis Ngannou, Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and even Dillian Whyte are being spoken of as his next opponents, but the knockout artist’s most probable opponent is Andy Ruiz Jr. The WBC recently ordered Wilder vs. Ruiz in a WBC title eliminator, the winner of the fight will face the WBC champion for a shot at the iconic green belt and some would say the most important belt in the heavyweight division.
