It appears Ilia Topuria's rivalry with Conor McGregor is heating up. The reigning featherweight champion recently responded to McGregor's latest threats and warned the Irishman of dire consequences should he continue ranting about him on social media or during interviews.

It's no secret that McGregor and Topuria have no love for each other and have been warring with their words ever since 'El Matador' became a UFC champion. During a Duelbits livestream last week, an inebriated McGregor brutally slammed Topuria and dismissed the Georgian-Spanish fighter as a potential opponent. He said:

"How do you think you would beat Ilia? I'd grab him by the scruff of the chest and slap that little nose off him, yeah. Little ding dong of a thing he is... You little fool, I'll cave your head in. You little short a** tick, I'll box your jaw in on sight."

Not one to take insults sitting down, Topuria recently fired back at the Irishman and speculated that the former two-division UFC champion would be too afraid to cross paths with him. During an Instagram Live (via @ChampRDS on X), Topuria went off on McGregor and said:

"F**k you, Conor. All day every day... He's not at my level. Otherwise, I'd gladly put these two knuckles in his brain. See if I could fix it and put his nose back in its place... When we cross paths, you won't want to even look me in the eyes because you're going to sh*t yourself. F***ing McChicken."

Ilia Topuria explains losing interest in Conor McGregor as a potential opponent

There was a time when Ilia Topuria would've loved to face Conor McGregor in the octagon. However, it appears the Georgian-Spanish fighter isn't keen on the idea anymore. During a recent interaction with Spanish influencer Ibai, Topuria also admitted that he didn't respect the former two-division UFC champion anymore.

During his conversation with Ibai, Topuria pointed out that McGregor had lost the aura he had as an active fighter and claimed that a fight between them wouldn't bring fireworks anymore. He said:

"I know it's [the fight] not what it once was. He is not that McGregor who moved the masses. He is a McGregor who represents alcohol and drugs more than sport... I have been inspired by Conor. I admired him when I was little. I and many people I know wanted to follow in his footsteps because he was an example of faith, that everything can be accomplished through hard work, perseverance, and effort. He has lost it because he has betrayed the values that led him here."
