Joe Rogan stands his ground, not wanting his podcast to be the epicenter of political discussions.
The comedian has had enough of listeners expecting serious political dialogue from his maddeningly successful podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. As of this writing, the podcast has 16 million subscribers.
Unsurprisingly, this level of attention comes with its own problems. Many show fans have criticized Rogan for not doubling down on social issues.
In response to the aforementioned claims, the 56-year-old host stated his platform was never intended for serious political commentary. The Boston native hopes to keep the podcast's tone lighthearted, so despite fans' vehement requests, he has never invited Donald Trump as a guest.
Recently, however, the UFC color commentator came under heavy fire for praising independent candidate Robert Kennedy Jr.
Fans weren't too keen on the endorsement, as most of his listeners wanted their favorite podcaster to support Trump. Rogan has repeatedly stated that taking sides on sensitive issues demonstrates a lack of empathy and a narrowed worldview and that instead of promoting your interests and values through a candidate, it is preferable to remain nonpartisan and endorse good values and behavior.
Several fans reacted to the endorsement:
"Rogan loves to play the "I'm just a dummy, don't listen to me" card when he gets called out. Are folks still falling for his "Aw shucks. I just fell off the turnip truck" routine? He always wants it both ways. Doesn't work like that. Lacks the courage of his convictions." One fan wrote
"This will create more harm than good. Catturd needs to step back on this. Rogan has redpilled LOT of people with his show." Wrote another
"A vote for a 3rd party candidate is just throwing away a vote. You either vote to win, or your vote doesn't really count. That's how reality works in this moment of history, whether people like it or not." Opined one fan
Joe Rogan was a Bernie Bro for a long time, I'm not sure why people are acting shocked or angry. I personally don't care who a celebrity endorses. I would much rather have Rogan invite Trump on his show." Wrote another user
"I don’t agree with him, but let him think what he wants. No one watches him for political advice." Was another fan's opinion

In response to the aforementioned post, Robert Kennedy Jr. shared a clip of Joe Rogan celebrating the values exemplified by Kennedy. The 70-year-old captioned his post, applauding the comedian's steadfast commitment to honesty and authenticity amid the curated propaganda rampant on the internet:
"From one “legitimate” guy to another, thank you @JoeRogan for always putting substance first."
He added:
"This election is not about left vs. right. It’s about Americans of goodwill coming together to end the tyranny of corruption in our system – so that we once again have a government and economy that works for all people."
