Kevin Holland has already retired once this year, but it seems the UFC fighter isn't ruling out the possibility of walking away from the sport again. It's often hard to tell when Holland is joking, given his light-hearted nature, but it seems he could once again retire after UFC Orlando.

'Trailblazer' is set to face Stephen Thompson at UFC Orlando, but his retirement decision seemingly isn't based on his result against 'Wonderboy' this weekend. Holland is dead-set on Khamzat Chimaev not getting a title shot at 185lbs in the UFC, with the American feeling he is undeserving of a title chance right now.

While speaking to TheMacLife during the UFC Orlando press conference, Kevin Holland stated (Transcribed by MMA Junkie):

"It’s (retirement) still on the table. If I wake up Sunday morning after beating ‘Wonderboy’ and you guys have Chimaev fighting for a 185-pound world title, and he’s never won a fight at ’85 in the Top 15, I’m retired."

Kevin Holland's latest bout in the UFC was against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 279: Diaz vs. Ferguson. Chimaev was originally meant to face Nate Diaz in the main event, but the Swedish-based fighter missed weight and was removed from the headline fight. 'Trailblazer' lost the UFC 279 outing, with 'Borz' submitting the American in the very first round.

Stephen Thompson vs. Kevin Holland: Are both fighters currently on a losing streak in the UFC?

Yes. Despite Kevin Holland threatening to walk away from the UFC for reasons outside of this bout, he is currently on a losing streak in the organization after losing against Khamzat Chimaev. His upcoming opponent, Stephen Thompson, is also on a losing streak under the UFC banner.

Thompson has lost back-to-back bouts against Gilbert Burns and Belal Muhammad, with both of these losses coming via unanimous decision. 'Wonderboy' was on a two-fight winning streak before facing Burns, scoring back-to-back decision victories against Vicente Luque and Geoff Neal.

Given both fighters' reputation in the organization, it's unlikely that a loss in Orlando will cause any issues to their UFC careers. However, 'Wonderboy' is nearing 40-years-old, so the American naturally might be nearing the end of his MMA career.

Kevin Holland is also only on a one-fight losing streak right now, with his loss coming against a highly-rated Chimaev. Meaning, the fellow American is also comfortable in the UFC, unless he is wanting to walk away from the sport once again.
