Is PFL interested in Francis Ngannou? President Ray Sefo talks signing

UFC 270: Francis Ngannou v Ciryl Gane

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou might be on his way to the PFL (Professional Fighting League).

Ngannou and the UFC parted ways earlier this year after him and the organization failed to come to terms with a new deal. Since then, he has been rumored to fight Deontay Wilder in a boxing match and potentially signing with the PFL or ONE championship.

While there has been a lot of speculation surrounding what's next for the former UFC heavyweight champion, it looks like he might find a new home soon. During a recent interview with MMA Junkie, PFL president Ray Sefo spoke about the possibility of signing Francis Ngannou.

While suggesting that he has had a few meetings with Ngannou already, Ray Sefo had this to say:

"That is correct, we have had a few meetings with Francis and those discussions are still going on. Obviously, there's a few other things he also wants to pursue, which is boxing and he knows where we stand with it too so, you know, it's all positive should I say, right?"

Francis Ngannou's demands are being met by PFL claims Dan Hardy

As mentioned earlier, the UFC and Ngannou failed to come to terms with a new contract earlier this year. The former UFC heavyweight champion had certain conditions that he wanted the UFC to agree to before he signed the dotted line which included, a higher pay, freedom to pursue a career in boxing, and more.

However, the UFC did not agree to these conditions and Francis Ngannou eventually decided to walk away. While it looked like 'The Predator' was being too greedy, the PFL are ready to meet these conditions.

While talking about the same during an interview with MiddleEasy, the PFL's head of European fighter relations Dan Hardy stated that the PFL can offer everything that 'The Predator' was looking for from the UFC, and that the PFL is willing to match his purse as well.

"His demands for the UFC is exactly what the PFL offers, right. So everything that he was asking for from the UFC, it's already on the table over here [at PFL], right? As long as the money is on the table alongside to match the heavyweight king's purse, then I think he'll be happy. And I think we can certainly do that for him."
