Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is not the kind to keep his opinions to himself. The outspoken African-born Kiwi fighter recently criticized the much-discussed 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony, which drew a lot of ire from a lot of people.

In his Instagram stories, 'The Last Stylebender' posted a screenshot of what looks like 'The Feast of the Gods' segment of the opening ceremony. The segment confused and outraged a lot of individuals for its alleged biblical undertones.

"I'll say it again... Life is one big cartoon"

While the Olympic Games committee has claimed that the segment was not intended for biblical symbolism but rather an interpretation of the Greek god Dionysus and the absurdity of human violence, spectators continue to criticize it for various reasons.

Israel Adesanya to challenge Dricus du Plessis for UFC middleweight strap at UFC 305 in Australia

Israel Adesanya will return to action for the first time since losing his belt to Sean Strickland last year. At UFC 305 in Perth, Australia, 'The Last Stylebender' fights close to home to challenge the South African middleweight kingpin Dricus du Plessis for the belt.

Du Plessis is on a nine-fight win streak, with his most recent being the title-winning bout against Strickland earlier this year. Adesanya will be the first defense of his world title.

The two had a heated exchange back in July 2023 at UFC 290, when du Plessis defeated former champ Robert Whittaker in a title eliminator bout. Adesanya, who was still the champion at the time, went inside the octagon post-fight to confront the South African fighter. The exchange was riddled with a lot of N-words from 'The Last Stylebender', which raised quite a few eyebrows.
