“It added to my nervousness” - Jaosuayai admits he felt the pressure of headlining a U.S. primetime card

Rising Muay Thai star Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi admitted to being nervous in headlining his first U.S. primetime card for ONE Championship. But the true competitor that he is, he pulled through.

The Sor Dechapan Gym standout headlined ONE Fight Night 32 on June 6 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. He battled and conquered Nakrob Fairtex by knockout in their all-Thai flyweight Muay Thai scrap.

In a post-fight interview with combat sports journalist Nick Atkin following his victory, Jaosuayai shared what was on his mind as he headlined a U.S. primetime show for the first time, including how he did not expect it to happen too soon.

He said:

"I think maybe later I can face someone in the rankings. But maybe I [could use] two to three more fights to continue trying it out. This was my first fight, it was also in the morning, and it added to my nervousness. So, yeah, maybe a few more fights I can face some of them."

At ONE Fight Night 32, Jaosuayai did not waste too much time in finishing Nakrob, getting the job done in just 52 seconds.

He connected on a clean high kick which he followed up with a barrage of strikes, sending his opponent to canvas for the first time. Nakrob was able to beat the count only to find himself in trouble right away as Jaosuayai once again scored another head kick that stopped Nakrob for good.

Jaosuayai wins $50,000 performance bonus for KO of Nakrob

The opening-round KO win of Jaosuayai over Nakrob at ONE Fight Night 32 earned him a $50,000 performance bonus from ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

Joined by his family inside the ring at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, the rising Thai star was very grateful and happy for the hefty bonus he received for his performance.

Apart from the $50,000 bonus, the win over Nakrob was the fifth straight for Jaosuayai in ONE Championship while building his case for a spot in the top 5 contenders' list in the flyweight Muay Thai division.
