Superlek Kiatmoo9 is unfazed about the sudden change in opponent in his scheduled fight at ONE Fight Night 6 on January 13 for the division’s world title.

Originally set to take on erstwhile titleholder Ilias Ennahachi in a world title bout, ONE Championship flyweight kickboxing No.2 contender Superlek is now facing No.5-ranked contender Daniel Puertas after Ennahachi had to vacate the flyweight belt for failing to make the weight limit of 135 lbs while hydrated.

Speaking to ONE Championship, the Thai fighter said that he is undaunted by the shift in opponent and highlighted that his preparation started early and his training is designed to adapt to different styles:

“It’s not a problem at all. I started the fight camp shortly after my last fight. I had about one month of preparation. And I’ve prepared myself for both offensive and defensive games. So, I think I can switch my style and adapt effectively in the Circle, despite this change of opponent.”

The decorated kickboxer is currently riding a three-fight winning streak in ONE. He first took a stab at the flyweight kickboxing world title against Ennahachi in February 2021 but fell short in his quest. Meanwhile, Puertas is looking to win back-to-back matches in ONE Championship and claim the vacant ONE flyweight kickboxing belt.

ONE Fight Night 6 happens at the Impact Arena in Bangkok and is live and free for North American fans with an active Amazon Prime subscription.

Lito Adiwang believes ‘dangerous’ Superlek could be tested at ONE Fight Night 6

Filipino mixed martial arts fighter Lito Adiwang is eager to catch Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Daniel Puertas' bout for the vacant ONE flyweight kickboxing world title, giving the Thai star the edge but expects him to be tested.

As part of the main card for ONE Fight Night 6 on January 13 in Bangkok, the kickboxing showdown is for the flyweight belt vacated by Ilias Ennahachi. Erstwhile titleholder Ennahachi decided to give up the belt after failing to make the weight limit of 135 lbs while hydrated.

Adiwang shared in an interview with The MMA Super Fan that the Thai star will be made to work in the world title fight but nonetheless expects him to emerge on top:

"It is one of the fights that I’m eager to watch also because I’ve watched and checked Superlek’s fights. This guy’s a dangerous guy and a smart guy also. Sorry but I’m not actually familiar with his opponent, but I know that they won’t give Superlek an easy fight."

Adiwang is currently sidelined as he continues to recuperate from an ACL injury.
