Janet Todd is days away from an opportunity she has waited years to receive.

On March 24, ‘JT’ will finally get a crack at ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues. The female warriors will meet in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video next Friday night. The contest will serve as a title unification bout as Todd goes into the matchup as the division’s current interim titleholder.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Janet Todd shared her excitement over the impending atomweight clash, saying:

“Oh man, it’s been four years in the making now. And the fact that I had to wait again for another three months. Yeah, it’s been something I’ve wanted for a really long time. So I’m really looking forward to it. And it’s a dream come true. It’s something that I have wanted for four years.”

Janet Todd has not suffered a loss inside the circle since her promotional debut against fan-favorite Stamp Fairtex. Since then, she’s scored seven straight victories between Muay Thai and kickboxing. The impressive run has been more than enough to justify a ONE world title opportunity, but her shot at undisputed gold was held up as Allycia Hellen Rodrigues became pregnant shortly after capturing the crown in 2019.

Janet Todd open to rematch against only woman to beat her inside the circle

If Janet Todd succeeds in capturing the undisputed ONE atomweight Muay Thai world championship at ONE Fight Night 8, she may seek to avenge her lone loss inside the circle. The defeat came at the hands of fast-rising Thai superstar Stamp Fairtex.

“Yeah, she’s a great opponent,” Todd said of Stamp Fairtex. “I like her as a person too. She also helped me level up as well as an opponent and challenged me to get better. Our last kickboxing fight we had was a pretty close fight. That’s not out of the realm of possibilities.”

The two met in 2019 at ONE: Call to Greatness. Stamp scored a unanimous decision win over ‘JT’ in the art of eight limbs, but Todd was able to exact some revenge a year later at ONE: King of the Jungle. This time, the two warriors battled in a ONE atomweight kickboxing world title
