Thai striking maestro Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi couldn't hide his amazement after delivering a sublime 52-second headkick knockout of compatriot Nakrob Fairtex in the main event of ONE Fight Night 32 on June 6.
The Sor Dechapan warrior, who promised to put on a show in his American primetime debut inside Bangkok's fabled Lumpinee Stadium, exceeded even his own expectations with the lightning-quick finish that also earned him a US$50,000 performance bonus from ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
"It certainly surprised me. I thought it would go longer," Jaosuayai told Nick Atkin when asked if he planned to get things done in under a minute into his flyweight Muay Thai battle. "I thought it would be an entertaining fight, trading punches, exchanging, but I thought it would be more exhausting for me. So, the first-round KO was totally a surprise."

After a brief opening period that saw both men test one another's defense, the 23-year-old charged in with a four-piece combo that left the Fairtex Training Center affiliate on the canvas. The No.5-ranked flyweight Muay Thai contender beat the referee's eight-count—just barely—and was forced to deal with another round of combinations from his game opponent near the ropes.
Nakrob couldn't do much but succumb to the intense pressure. Another salvo of strikes rocked him, and just as he looked as if he was about to go down, Jaosuayai made sure he wouldn't get back up with a picture-perfect left kick to the face that left his countryman staring at the ceiling of the Mecca of Muay Thai.
Referee Ricky Sewell instantly waved off the tie at the 52-second mark of the match, earning the Thai warrior his fifth successive triumph in the promotion that took his overall resume to 60-22.

Jaosuayai knew his high kick would get the job done against Nakrob
Though he was surprised by how quickly he got the job done, Jaosuayai told Circle-side color commentator Mitch Chilson that his head kick was indeed part of his plan.
"I saw, and I studied him - every time he presses forward, he drops his guard. So, because of that, I predicted that I could use my high kick to finish him, and I did," the young star shared during his victory interview inside the ring.
Nothing is confirmed for Jaosuayai next. But with more victories like the one he delivered in Bangkok last week, the rising star could well be on his way to a crack at the vacant ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship in no time.
