Jeremy Miado says his focus on wrestling has been to prepare one day for Jarred Brooks

'The Jaguar' Jeremy Miado is on an impressive four-fight winning streak in ONE Championship's competitive strawweight division. As he approaches a shot at the world title, he knows drilling wrestling will be key to victory.

'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks is an American wrestler who recently captured the ONE strawweight world championship. Brooks took the crown from the long-reigning former division king Joshua Pacio.

The FIlipino-born athlete Jeremy Miado is currently looking at facing Jarred Brooks. While speaking with International Business Times, 'The Jaguar' explained some of his unique skills:

"They've also underestimated my wrestling and my Brazilian jiu-jitsu, but my training partners here are American wrestlers, these are very good wrestlers, so I think I can also give him problems defending his takedowns."

Jeremy Miado has extensive experience in stand-up martial arts such as boxing and Muay Thai. But since turning to MMA, he knows wrestling will be vital to his future success. he continued:

"I've been here at Marrok for more than two years, and since day one, my coaches have always been telling me everyday to focus on my wrestling. Everyday, it's wrestling, that's why in my last few fights, my opponents haven't been able to keep me pinned down on the ground."

Jarred Brooks compliments Jeremy Miado

The reigning ONE strawweight world champion Jarred Brooks recognizes Miado's skill. 'The Jaguar' is on a four-fight winning streak against impressive opponents such as Danial Williams, Lito Adiwang, and Miao Li Tao.

On fighting Miado, Brooks, in an interview with ONE, said:

“You have Jeremy Miado. He’s really good. He’s tall, has great boxing, got his wrestling a little bit better too, and his jiu-jitsu is not bad. So I think Jeremy Miado would be a good matchup.”

However, 'The Monkey God' warned his future world title challengers:

“Do you think that you have an advantage against me? I’ve already out-thought you, and I’ve already paid attention to you. And you know, I’ve been stalking your social media for the past year and a half. So I already know you, and hopefully, you get to know me a little bit better."

Both Jarred Brooks and Miado will be back in the ONE Circle in 2023 as each man looks to extend his respective win streak. The two may be on a collision course with ONE Championship gold on the line in the future.
