Former ONE bantamweight world champion John Lineker is excited at the progress ONE Chamionship is making in expanding its brand across the globe, specifically in his home country of Brazil

ONE recently announced its partnership with Globo, the largest commercial television network in Latin America. ONE Championship’s CEO announced the deal in a post on Facebook, saying:

“I am thrilled to announce that Globo is the new home of ONE in Brazil! Globo is the largest commercial television network in Latin America, with a reach of more than 200 million viewers across its free-to-air, digital, and pay TV channels. It is also the leading provider of premium combat sports content in Brazil with its pay-per-view channel, Combate. With this new exclusive multiyear partnership, ONE events will be shown live in prime time in Brazil. BOOM!!!”

John Lineker shared his thoughts on the partnership in a recent interview with ONE Championship. ‘Hands of Stone’ shared his excitement over the partnership and the exposure it will bring to Brazilian fighters:

“This partnership will certainly be good not only for Brazilian fighters, but also for ONE, as the event will open doors in yet another market and grow even more. With this partnership with Combate, fans will be able to follow more. And Brazilian fighters will have more visibility and opportunity with the arrival of ONE in Combate.”

John Lineker’s bantamweight rival Fabricio Andrade shares his enthusiasm for ONE Championship’s partnership with Globo

While there is certainly no love lost between John Lineker and Fabricio Andrade, the two stars can agree that ONE Championship’s partnership with Globo is an excellent opportunity for both the promotion and for Brazilian fighters who are looking to get a wider range of exposure.

Speaking to the promotion, Andrade shared his enthusiasm, saying:

“This partnership is very important to us, mainly in Brazil. This partnership with the largest broadcaster in Brazil is a very important step for the event and for Brazilian fighters, who will be able to gain greater recognition in the country.”

At ONE on Prime Video 3, Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker squared off in the evening’s main event with the ONE bantamweight title hanging in the balance.

Through two and a half rounds, fans were treated to a back-and-forth war. However, the fight was called off in unceremonious fashion after a knee strike from Andrade landed low on Lineker, resulting in a no-contest.
