British fighter Jonathan Haggerty has fought Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon twice before and both he said were lesson-filled.

Among the things 'The General' realized was not to trade power shots against a beast like 'The Iron Man', especially just to please the crowd.

In an interview with Heatrick Muay Thai Performance, Jonathan Haggerty shared:

“I was thinking more of like, the crowd. They wanted to see a war. You see in ONE Championship, sort of ONE base, and that Rodtang sort of adrenaline rush powerhouse. They wanted to see that and get excited. And I thought if he wants to do that, I can do that. And it just went out the window, to be fair.”

The two warriors met twice in successive fashion from August 2019 to January 2020 with Rodtang claiming the win on both occasions. The first saw Jonathan Haggerty lose by unanimous decision and in the second he bowed with a technical knockout in the third round.

Haggerty returns to action next month to vie for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title against reigning champion Nong-O Hama. He enters the contest riding a three-fight winning streak.

Rodtang, meanwhile, challenges for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title in an all-Thai showdown with division king Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video on March 24 in Singapore.

All ONE Fight Night events are broadcast live and for free in North America via Prime Video.
