Joseph Lasiri is "scared" Rodtang and Superlek might be too cautious of each other

Italian-Moroccan striker Joseph Lasiri is excited for the world championship clash between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmoo9 later this week. However, he's admitted that there is a “pitfall” to it if they play it too cautiously.

The two Thai superstars will collide at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video on March 24 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Superlek is looking to successfully defend his ONE flyweight kickboxing world title for the first time, while Rodtang, who is the division’s Muay Thai king, attempts to snatch it and, in turn, be a two-sport ONE world champion.

ONE strawweight Muay Thai champ Lasiri said that while he is looking forward to catching the Thai titans clash, a part of him is “scared” that the protagonists may play it safe and check the fight.

Lasiri shared to ONE Championship in an interview:

“We are talking about two superstars fighting in the best stage, two superstars, two Muay Thai superstars fighting in the best stage of the world, so I’m scared it will be like someone trying to just check the fight.”

Good thing for fight fans, both Rodtang and Superlek have expressed excitement over their world title showdown, which many consider to be a long time coming. They vowed to pack the heat to see their respective causes through.

Rodtang expects exciting showdown with Superlek

Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon is girding for an exciting and competitive encounter when he meets reigning ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 in a title showdown later this week.

'The Iron Man' will attempt to become a two-sport ONE world champion in his headlining bout against 'The Kicking Machine' at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video on March 24 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Rodtang, the division’s Muay Thai king, sees a tough stand by champion Superlek but is undeterred. He told ONE Championship in an interview:

“It will also remove an accusation that I am scared to fight with Superlek, too. Superlek must do anything to keep the belt on his waist. And I will do everything to take it from him.”

He continued:

“This fight will be explosive. One man wants it like hell and the other refuses to let it go. Let's see in whose hands the belt will be.”

After dominating the flyweight Muay Thai division, 'The Iron Man' has made this year the one where he will seek to expand his domain to other combat sports, particularly kickboxing and mixed martial arts.
