Reigning ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo is set to defend his world title on June 9 at ONE Fight Night 11 on Prime Video.

Combat sports website MMA Mania first broke the news of the world title showdown that will see the American world champion take on Norwegian challenger Tommy Langaker at the famous Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

It will be the second world title defense of Kade Ruotolo after becoming world champion last October by defeating Russian Uali Kurzhev via submission for the inaugural ONE lightweight submission grappling world title.

He battled Matheus Gabriel in December last year and retained the belt with a gutsy unanimous decision victory.

Since making his ONE Championship debut in May 2022, Atos-affiliated Kade Ruotolo has compiled a 3-0 record and has become one of the acknowledged movers in the sport of submission grappling with the promotion.

He is joined by the likes of his brother Tye, ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Danielle Kelly.

Tommy Langaker is also part of that group of grappling aces in ONE, winning his first two matches to date since joining the promotion last year. His most recent victory was also over Kurzhev, which put him in a position to vie for the world title.

The ONE lightweight submission grappling championship fight was the first bout to be added for the sixth Amazon show of ONE Championship this year. More fights are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

ONE Fight Night 11 will be aired live and for free to North American fans with an active Prime Video subscription.
