There's something brewing going on with Kell Brook and Conor Benn.

'Special K' has been out of the boxing ring since his long-awaited showdown with Amir Khan last year. The pair had teased a potential clash against one another for well over a decade by the time the bout finally happened.

Ultimately, the fight happened a few years past its expiration date. 'King' got dominated by his longtime rival, getting rocked repeatedly. Luckily, the referee stopped the fight in the sixth round, handing Brook the victory.

Following the win, Kell Brook announced his retirement. The move frankly shocked most fans and pundits, mainly because there was talk of the former champion facing Conor Benn. 'The Destroyer' wound up being scheduled to face Chris Eubank Jr. later that year.

However, Benn tested positive for Clomifene and was later suspended. That being said, the welterweight contender was recently cleared by the WBC and is ready to resume his career. It seems his return could come against Brook.

Kell Brook was featured on social media in several videos alongside his nutritionist Greg Marriott. The videos also tagged Conor Benn and hinted that the big news was coming.

Will Conor Benn fight Kell Brook?

Kell Brook might want to face Conor Benn on his return, but 'The Destroyer' is in-talk with a lot of opponents.

Despite his recent drug test failures, the Brit remains a popular fighter. Likely thanks to that star power, he's been called out by a lot more boxers than just 'Special K' lately.

Eddie Hearn, who promotes Conor Benn, recently stated that there are three matchups that they're working on. They're focusing on Kell Brook as well as a possible re-booking with Chris Eubank Jr.

However, it seems that Manny Pacquiao is currently leading the pack. 'PacMan' retired after a split-decision loss to Yordenis Ugas in August 2021 but has recently shown interest in returning. Pacquiao's manager has stated that his ideal opponent is Benn.

In a recent interview with FightHubTV, Eddie Hearn revealed that everything is already set for the Pacquiao matchup. However, there is still uncertainty. He stated:

“It’s ready to go. It’s ready to go. We’ve got a couple of site offers. It’s whether we select that fight out of the three... Manny Pacquiao wants the fight badly... Obviously, with the legal stuff going on right now with the British boxing Board of Control, I don’t think his next fight will be in the UK. But it’s definitely between those three who Conor will fight next.”
