Kenneth Sims Jr. vs. Jonathan Romero will go down later this evening at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, on the undercard of the WBC interim super welterweight clash between Serhii Bohachuk vs. Vergil Ortiz Jr.

Sims Jr. (20-2-1) has been on a dream run in recent years. The super lightweight standout is No.1 on WBA's rankings and is currently on a seven-fight win streak. He'll be hoping for a dominant win this weekend to build momentum towards a title shot.

In the other half of the event, Romero's (35-4) career seems to be on a decline. The former IBF super bantamweight champion is currently on a three-fight skid. To make matters worse, two of his last three losses have come via knockout.

Kenneth Sims Jr. vs. Jonathan Romero

Round 1

Sime Jr. is the early aggressor pushing his opponent with jabs to the body. Romero throws a multi-punch combo but fails to connect cleanly. Both fighters get into a heated exchange near the ropes.

Sims Jr is digging into his opponent's midsection with debilitating shots. The hard body shots force his opponent to tie up. As the fight continues, Sims Jr. once against goes on the offensive. He lands a big right hook up top.

Romero connects with a beautiful combo, to the body and head. Sims Jr. is stinging his opponent with quick jabs but his late replacement opponent doesn't seem to be out of place and is still in the fight.

Sims Jr. lands a left hook to the body, eliciting a reaction from his opponent. This is turning out to be target practice for 'Bossman' he is connecting with almost everything he lands.

Round 3

Romero starts the round landing a multi-punch combo on his opponent. Sims Jr. is trying to get his opponent t out of there. He is trying g to land something big. 'Bossman' lands double right hands on his opponent.

Triple right hooks land for Sims Jr. with his opponent on the ropes. Romero is getting peppered up but still looks relatively fresh. The bodywork from Sims Jr. seems to be catching up to Romero.

Sims Jr. starts Round 4 aggressively. He looks intent on finishing the fight. However, Romero is firing back. This is becoming a back-and-forth battle in the middle of the fourth round.

Sims Jr. pushes his opponent to the corner and blasts him with debilitating shots to the head. Another multi-punch combo to the head and for 'Bossman'. Romero seems to be slowing down owing to the accumulated damage.

The body shots from Sims Jr. seem to be affecting his opponent.

Sims Jr. is on the front foot. 'Bossman' is almost landing at will at this point, going to both the body and the head. Romero is firing back but his shots seem to lack the pop to trouble his opponent.

A left hook to the head lands for Sims Jr. in the corner. Romero is getting hit with a flurry of hard shots. 'Momo' is firing back, it might not be long before 'Bossman' ends the fight.

A one-sided beat down by 'Bossman' forces the referee to consult with Romero's corner and stop the fight in between rounds. Sims Jr. is the victor.
