Kiamrian Abbasov may have been stripped of his ONE welterweight world title, but he still plans to give Christian Lee the biggest beating of his life.

As a consequence of failing weight and hydration, ‘Brazen’ will be ineligible to win the 185-pound gold strap in his main event clash at ONE on Prime Video 4 this Friday inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Still, the Kyrgyzstani-Russian plans to deliver a message by sending the ONE lightweight world champion back to his division with his tail between his legs.

In an exclusive interview with ONE Championship, Abbasov once again discredited Lee’s chances against him and made it clear that he’s on a different level:

“Except for a lucky punch, he doesn't have any other options to win, and even a lucky punch isn't likely to help him. I know he plans to take me to the ground and put me in a submission or choke. I've heard him say he's going to fight me until the third round and then he's going to take me down and make a submission, but it's easier said than done. I've said more than once I'm not a guy from his division and I'm not going to be easy prey for him.”

Furthermore, the 29-year-old Greco-Roman wrestler also told fans during the ceremonial weigh-ins that he plans to put Lee out of his misery in the third round.

Despite being booted out of his throne, it appears that Abbasov remains in good spirits and will just vent his frustrations on Lee once the circle door closes.

He’ll have to walk the talk soon enough against the hungry 24-year-old, who’s out to become a two-division world champion.

Lee is coming off a career-defining knockout victory against Ok Rae Yoon at ONE 160 this past August.

For sure, ‘The Warrior’ plans to bring the same level of savagery against Kiamrian Abbasov.

Let’s see if ‘Brazen’ can live up to his promise and stop Lee from conquering both the lightweight and welterweight divisions.

Christian Lee on how he’ll defend two world titles if he beats Kiamrian Abbasov

Christian Lee is no stranger to shifting weight classes, and he already has a solid plan in place if he completes his mission of becoming a champ-champ.

The Singaporean-American, who began his career in the 155-pound ranks, said he’ll likely keep the weight on and try to defend the welterweight world title first, before facing a new contender back in lightweight.

He told The MMA Superfan in an exclusive interview:

“I do plan on winning the welterweight world title and then of course defending both. It will be a little bit of a challenge in the sense that I won’t be taking back-to-back fights.”

Lee further explained:

“I don’t think it will be responsible to put on 20 pounds of size and then cut pounds just back-to-back. I’ll definitely be looking to get at least a few months in between fights to properly adjust to each world title defense.”
