At 37 years old, former two-division world champion Aung La N Sang is in solid physical form and looks battle-ready for what lies ahead of him in ONE Championship.

'The Burmese Python' recently posted a photo on Instagram with his team at Kill Cliff FC following a sparring session to stay in game shape.

He captioned it with:

“After all these years, I still wake up excited to spar. Thank you gentlemen for the rounds.”

Aung La N Sang has been a busy fighter of late, competing in two matches that he won in a span of two months. The latest came in January over returning Brazilian warrior Gilberto Galvao by technical knockout in the opening round.

He is set to return to action on May 5 at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video in Colorado, U.S.A., in a middleweight clash with Fan Rong of China.

Aung La N Sang, who once simultaneously held the ONE middleweight and light heavyweight world titles, made a case for himself to be included in the promotion’s first-ever live on-ground event in North America in his last fight. He touted his solid game shape as well as the support he would get from Burmese fans in the United States.

ONE Fight Night 10 will take place at 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, and will be aired live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.


Aung La N Sang to compete in the United States for first time in over a decade

Former two-division world champion Aung La N Sang is excited to be given the opportunity to fight once again in the United States after a decade.

'The Burmese Python' is part of the fight card for ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on May 5 in Broomfield, Colorado, U.S.A., facing off against Fan Rong of China in a middleweight clash.

It will mark the first time in 10 years that Aung La N Sang will compete in front of American fans. Before signing up with ONE in 2014, he was a staple in different fight tournaments in the U.S.

The Burmese-American fighter greeted his inclusion in ONE Fight Night 10 with gratitude and excitement, posting a photo of the poster for his fight on Instagram with a caption that read:

“Colorado 🏔️ here we come! 1st time in 10 years, I will be fighting in the USA 🇺🇸. Can’t wait to put on a show.”

Aung La N Sang is on a mission to reclaim the ONE middleweight gold currently held by Dutchman Reinier de Ridder. He has been building momentum of late, winning back-to-back matches.

Apart from the middleweight world title, 'The Burmese Python' also once held the light heavyweight strap before losing it to De Ridder as well in April 2021.
