No. 5-ranked ONE featherweight Muay Thai contender Luke Lessei showed a massive change in his fighting approach when he fought ONE Championship newcomer Cody Jerome at ONE Fight Night 27 last Jan. 10, inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
This new calm, collected, and calculated style displayed by the Iowa native allowed him to land a vicious kick on Jerome's body that instantly folded him in the opening round and was key to his TKO finish.
In his post-fight interview with Nick Atkin, 'The Chef' shared that he has been working on that strike and was grateful to his new team at Beacon MMA for unlocking a new level to his game, as he stated:
"Yeah. We've been working on that in practice the whole fight camp. I've been trying to drop all my boys with that, that left liver kick. Thank you, Ray, thank you, Sean, thank you, Joe. Thank you, Braden, thank you, Sage, everybody, man, shout out to Beacon boys."

Luke Lessei stoked about the result of his latest fight that was capped off with an additional bonus
The 28-year-old athlete is satisfied with the result of his match against the Canadian because he feels refreshed with his new approach of not taking excessive damage.
Furthermore, Luke Lessei pointed out that getting the US$50,000 performance bonus was the icing on the cake. He stated this during his in-ring interview, where he shared:
"Yeah, super happy. I mean, the last couple [of] fights have been some wars. So, it's really cool to go in there like a computer, analyze my opponent, get the win, get the money, come out unscathed."
