Fans recently reacted after Max Holloway admitted to being knocked down by Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 and heaped praise on him for remaining humble.

'Blessed' and 'The Highlight' competed in an entertaining bout that ended with the Hawaiian earning a spectacular knockout win. During his appearance on Joe Rogan's JRE MMA Show, Holloway mentioned that Gaethje knocked him down in the fourth round despite not being credited for it and described the feeling:

"All I remember [was] getting hit by that punch, and then like I sat and then I came back up...That was a good punch...I don't know how that didn't count as a [knockdown]."

Max Holloway reveals he sparred again in preparation for his UFC 300 bout against Justin Gaethje

Max Holloway's timing was incredible during his 'BMF' title bout against Justin Gaethje and he revealed that it was one of the benefits of sparring again.

During the aforementioned appearance, 'Blessed' explained his reasoning for sparring in his training camp and noted that his opponent was a major factor in that decision. He told Joe Rogan that Gaethje was a dangerous fighter and wanted to ensure he was fully prepared. He said:

"This Justin Gaethje [fight], brother, I'm going to the gates of hell. We have to bring back sparring...I was ready to be a crash dummy again. I told my coach, 'This is a man that's very dangerous, we need to get into the thick of it and get it done'."
