Former two-division ONE world champion Martin Nguyen invited Eduard Folayang to train with him at Kill Cliff FC in South Florida after the Filipino mixed martial arts star parted ways with Team Lakay recently.

'The Situ-Asian' extended the invitation in the comment section of Folayang’s departure announcement on his official fan page on Facebook.

Martin Nguyen wrote:

“Come to killcliff bro #thelastride”

Folayang replied:

“Martin 'The Situ-Asian'gNguyen i'll try to visit u there bro”

Martin Nguyen trained at Kill Cliff FC for his most recent fight, away from his family in Australia, to get the training needed for what he considered to be an important match at this stage of his career. All the sacrifices paid off as he chalked up a unanimous decision victory over Brazil's Leonardo Casotti at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video in February in Bangkok to swing back to the win column.

Former two-time ONE lightweight world champion Folayang, for his part, broke ties with Team Lakay after spending 16 years under its fold. It was a decision that he said was not easy to make but needed to be done for him to continue to evolve as a fighter. He has vowed to continue competing but did not disclose his full plans.

The two fighters have met previously in ONE, with the Vietnamese-Australian fighter knocking out 'Landslide' to seize the lightweight gold in November 2017 at ONE: Legends of the World.

Martin Nguyen says he’s laser-focused training in South Florida

In his most recent fight, veteran Vietnamese-Australian fighter Martin Nguyen made the tough decision to train in the United States at Kill Cliff FC in South Florida to stay laser-focused. However, it did not come easy for 'The Situ-Asian' as it meant being away from family in Australia for a considerable amount of time, including during the holidays.

The move eventually paid off as Martin Nguyen emerged victorious at ONE on Fight Night 7 on Prime Video last month in Bangkok, defeating Brazilian Leonardo Casotti by unanimous decision. The win thrust him back into the win column after losing in his previous fight.

The former two-division ONE world champion credited his time spent at Kill Cliff FC as making a huge difference in his preparation, telling ONE Championship:

“Yeah, the beauty of it is I get no distractions over here. I can just focus on training. Eat, sleep, and train, eat, sleep, and train. Just the environment is different, and the coaches' energy is different. Everything is different when you come over here. You know you're going in and you know you're going to get good work every single day. It's not like you're going to come into training.”

Martin Nguyen spent 12 weeks at Kill Cliff FC, where he got the chance to train with some of the top fighters in the world, including fellow ONE fighter and former champion Aung La N Sang.
