Murad Ramazanov has been fighting since he was a child. Growing up in Russia, Ramazanov, like many children, spent much of his time on the streets, playing with neighborhood children. Like many kids, Ramazanov was also prone to causing a little bit of trouble.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Ramazanov recalls being scolded by his mother for getting into the occasional fight or for being a bit of a bully at times, but his father took solace in knowing that his son could handle himself on the streets:

“I was sometimes punished for my cocky temper. Just like many other local children of that time, I grew up in the street - from the age of three, I spent most of my time there, playing soccer or hide-and-seek. And sometimes, I would get in fights or take away toys, and other parents complained. My mother scolded me, but my father liked that I could fight.”

Today, Murad Ramazanov is one of the best grapplers in the world of mixed martial arts. Turning pro in 2014, Ramazanov has an impressive 11-0 record, three of those victories coming inside the circle.

He will attempt to get the biggest win of his career at ONE on Prime Video 5 on Friday night when he welcomes ONE newcomer Roberto Soldic to the organization. If he is victorious, Murad Ramazanov will likely find himself in pole position for a ONE welterweight world title opportunity.

Christian Lee planning to face the winner of Roberto Soldic vs. Murad Ramazanov

Already the ONE lightweight world champion, Christian Lee added another piece of gold to his collection when he knocked out former welterweight titleholder Kiamrian Abbasov at ONE on Prime Video 4. Now a two-division world champion, ‘The Warrior’ is already looking ahead to his next challenger.

Lee will likely find the first man to challenge for his welterweight crown at ONE on Prime Video 5 when undefeated Russian grappler Murad Ramazanov takes on ONE debutant and former KSW two-division champion Roberto Soldic. Speaking to The MMA Superfan, Christian Lee shared his thoughts on fighting one of the two men in 2023:

“I think that’s a title eliminator fight. I think that whoever wins that fight will be next in line for the belt. Ramazanov, I believe he has three wins in the welterweight division, a very impressive record.”

Christian Lee continued, saying:

“He could have been next in line for the welterweight shot as well. And with Roberto coming in, bringing the resume that he has, I think definitely the winner of that fight will be next.”
