Daniel Cormier congratulated Merab Dvalishvili for his exceptional performance at UFC 316. The pair crossed paths backstage, where the UFC Hall of Famer jokingly pled with Dvalishvili to fly his sister-in-law from Georgia to the United States to make Georgian pastries, which quickly drew fan attention.

The reigning bantamweight champion responded to Cormier's request by inviting him and any guests he may bring to his home, where his sister-in-law and other Georgian family members will cook for them. The entire exchange was shared on X/Twitter by Championship Rounds.

It was a historic weekend for Dvalishvili, whose UFC 316 submission now has him tied with all-time greats Jon Jones, Georges St-Pierre, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Demetrious Johnson for the fourth-longest win streak in UFC history.

It was also his first-ever submission win in the promotion. The last time he had tapped someone out was back at Ring of Combat 58 in 2017.

Daniel Cormier was once part of a food-based parody video

Back in 2015, Daniel Cormier filmed a video parodying Meghan Trainor's hit song, 'All About That Bass.' In the video, Cormier could be seen singing about food, even eating on occasion as he danced. The video was titled 'All About That Cake,' and was used to promote the 2015 World MMA Awards.

Cormier went on to author an all-time great career, capturing both the UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight titles. The only losses he suffered came against Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic.
