ONE Championship expands to Australia through partnership with Seven Network

ONE Championship fights fans in Australia will get enhanced access to world-class martial arts action with the recent agreement between the promotion and broadcast giant Seven Network.

Under the new partnership with Seven Network, all ONE events will air live and for free on the 7plus streaming platform. The tie-up officially kicked off with ONE Friday Fights 9 held on March 17 which was broadcast from the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.

ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong made the announcement of the key linkup over Instagram. He wrote:

“BREAKING NEWS: I am thrilled to announce that ONE is expanding into Australia with an exclusive partnership with Seven Network! Seven Network is the highest rated commercial television network in Australia, with a reach of more than 50% of Australians across its free-to-air, digital, and pay TV channels. With this new exclusive partnership, ONE events will now be shown live every week in Australia…”

The latest partnership is in line with ONE Championship’s push to become the true home of martial arts.

Prior to the agreement with Seven Network, the promotion also signed broadcast deals with Amazon in North America, beIN in the Middle East, and TV Globo in Latin America, among others.

ONE Championship’s newly inked broadcasting partnership with Australian giant Seven Network officially kicked off on March 17 with the airing of ONE Friday Fights 9.

Through the new exclusive agreement, all ONE events are to be aired live and for free on the 7plus streaming platform for martial arts fans in “The Land Down Under.”

The first offering shown through the partnership was ONE Friday Fights 9, which was broadcast from the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.

It was headlined by a world title fight between ONE lightweight Muay Thai champion Regian Eersel and Thai challenger Sinsamut Klinmee. The Surinamese-Dutch fighter retained the championship strap after knocking his opponent out with an impressive body shot late in the fourth round.

ONE Fight Night 9 also featured 10 other bouts, eight of which ended by way of finishes.

ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong lauded the partnership with Seven Network, the highest rated commercial television network in Australia, seeing it as a major component in the promotion’s push to be the true home of world-class martial arts action.

The Friday Fights series of ONE Championship, meanwhile, was launched in January and has already become an established weekly tradition in Bangkok.
