Former ONE strawweight kickboxing world title challenger Zhang Peimian returned to the win column at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video on Friday, with a masterful dissection of the tough Torepchi Dongak.

After three rounds, the 19-year-old got a well-deserved unanimous decision nod in their strawweight kickboxing bout inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Both sluggers wasted no time by measuring each other with a torrent of punches and kicks. Zhang Peimian, however, got the better of the exchanges early on, as he backed the Russian into a corner and unloaded wicked punch combinations to the body.

The sheer impact of those blows left a visible welt on Dongak’s midsection.

Fighting in his promotional debut, Dongak landed a nice head kick near the end of the round, but Zhang’s aggressiveness clearly gave him a nice headstart.

The ‘Fighting Rooster’ bravely entered the pocket in the second canto, tagging the Tyva Kickboxing Federation standout with his blazing fists of fury.

He once again cornered Dongak near the circle walls with a brilliant three-piece capped off by a beautiful flying knee.

Dongak proved to be a willing dance partner in round 3, countering with his own flurry at the end of Zhang’s attacks. He found some success with his front kick, but that was the only significant strike he could muster all night.

Zhang Peimian continued the assault on Dongak’s body and cruised to a dominant victory.

With the win, the Shengli Fight Club star improved his overall record to 17-2 and is now 3-1 inside the circle.

Before accepting his cool $50,000 performance bonus from ONE Chairman Chatri Sityodtong, Zhang Peimian called for a rematch with the division’s kingpin Jonathan Di Bella:

“The more I fight, the braver I become. I want to challenge Jonathan Di Bella. I want to get the belt.”
