Ryan Garcia recently shared a significant update on a potential rematch against Devin Haney and noted that their rivalry is a personal one. It's important to note that if a rematch materializes, it will have to transpire after Apr. 20, 2025 as that is when 'King Ryan' will have completed his suspension.

Their encounter earlier this year was mired in controversy as 'King Ryan' missed weight making him ineligible to win the WBC super lightweight championship and then tested positive for a banned substance following the bout. As a result of his failed drug test, Garcia's majority decision win was overturned and ruled a no contest. Both competitors have taken jibes at each other since then, which leads fans to believe that they could be heading toward a collision course once again.

During his latest appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, 'King Ryan' discussed the possibility of running his fight back with 'The Dream' and expressed interest in doing so. Garcia mentioned that their rivalry has become personal due to Haney's lawsuit against him and said that he believes the rematch would be much easier:

"It's a little bit personal now, [Haney] sued me...That's a real legitimate lawsuit that I'm going through...I think the rematch would be huge, they think that I cheated...If they feel that way, let's run it again and I'm gonna do him worse. I didn't even train for the fight... I kinda was just crashing out, but now I'm focused and I'm gonna whoop him even worse this time."

Ryan Garcia opens up about overcoming personal struggles following Devin Haney fight

In addition to expressing interest in a rematch against former foe Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia opened up about overcoming personal struggles following the bout.

During the aforementioned appearance, Garcia mentioned that it has been a difficult year for him but is grateful to have overcome his issues and is eager to resume his career with a positive mindset:

"I'm feeling much more positive and living that [crazy] type of life is only a one way street and that's to destruction. Obviously, you've seen some of the stuff after the [Haney] fight, so for me like I said, this is the life that I always wanted to live. It's just more calm, just more focused and ready to be the best fighter I could possibly be."
