Thai great Sam-A Gaiyanghadao is part of an elite group of fighters from the past generation who continue to fight at a high level inside the circle.
Speaking with ONE Championship, Sam-A proudly shared what motivates him to keep fighting:
"I will keep fighting until my body can't take it anymore. I have two motivation sources. The first is from my family, from my children. I think I still have the strength to fight to earn some money for my children's education."
He also added:
"The second source is from my wife because she always motivates and pushes me. She says she will always be by my side."
At 41 years old, Sam-A is among the most accomplished active competitors in the world's largest martial arts promotion's Muay Thai and kickboxing ranks.
Despite his age, he remains as dominant as he was in his prime years after earning his 374th career win with a first-round knockout of Akram Hamidi this past September.
Sam-A set for intergenerational kickboxing bout at ONE 169
Sam-A will look to lean on his motivations and extensive experience in his upcoming strawweight kickboxing bout with Zhang Peimian at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' on Friday, Nov. 8, inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The 21-year-old from China displayed how much he has developed as a fighter under the ONE banner by gutting out an impressive win over Aliff Sor Dechapan this past April at ONE Friday Fights 58.
Trading leather with a speedy fighter like 'Fighting Rooster' will be an exciting challenge for the ageless wonder as he restarts his quest to reclaim the ONE strawweight kickboxing crown.
ONE 169 will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
