Conor McGregor recently sent fans into a frenzy after sharing an old video of him speaking about suffering from injuries. The Irishman unsurprisingly deleted the post soon after uploading it, and fans began worrying about him potentially pulling out of his fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29.

McGregor has been away from the octagon for almost three years. The Irishman last fought Dustin Poirier in an ill-fated bout at UFC 264 in July 2021 and hasn't competed professionally since. However, he was booked to make his grand return to action against Chandler at UFC 303, which had fight fans supremely excited.

Unfortunately, MMA journalist Ariel Helwani recently shared an update on the bout that poured water all over the fans' expectations. He reported that the fight was "in limbo," and the promotion was looking for a suitable replacement to save the card. Their hopes were further dashed after McGregor posted and deleted an old video of him discussing training-related injuries.

Ariel Helwani shares disappointing update on Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight at UFC 303

As mentioned, veteran MMA journalist Ariel Helwani recently shared some vital updates on the highly anticipated Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler bout at UFC 303 later this month. Helwani claimed that the fight was in jeopardy and that the promotion was looking for suitable alternatives.

During a recent episode of The MMA Hour, Helwani addressed the speculations surrounding the UFC 303 main event. Stating that while the bout was "hanging on" and could end up happening, he said:

"The positivity that I talked about exactly one week ago today is nowhere to be found. I would say this fight is very much in limbo. I would say that it's hanging on and I would say the UFC is working very very hard right now to figure out a plan B. Now, the plan B could be someone stepping in to fight Chandler or the plan C could be a whole new fight."
