Superlek praises Wiz Khalifa’s Muay Thai skills

Combat superstar Superlek Kiatmoo9 said he was extremely impressed by Wiz Khalifa’s advanced Muay Thai skills after training him in the U.S.

Unbeknownst to some, the Work Hard, Play Hard rapper is a big fan of Muay Thai. He’s been training in the sport for a few years now and has never shied away from learning new techniques and styles from Thailand’s very best. So when Superlek stopped by his gym last month, the American rapper didn’t skip a chance to meet him.

Speaking to ONE Championship, here’s what the Pattaya native had to say about their epic meeting:

“He came to learn Muay Thai with me at the seminar. I taught him a few of my techniques. His basics are good because he exercises regularly. He is also a fan of Muay Thai and used to practice this sport. After I saw his stance, how he attacked, I can tell that this guy can fight. He is not an ordinary amateur. But to tell the truth, I didn't know him before. I didn't know that he is a famous rapper. I was so happy to rub shoulders with a celeb like him.”

The Thai superstar is just days away from defending his ONE flyweight kickboxing world title this Friday, but it will be against ‘Mini-T’ Danial Williams and not Rodtang Jitmuangnon as originally scheduled. Rodtang, unfortunately, had to withdraw from the card due to an undisclosed injury he suffered during one of his training sessions.

Although there’s been a major shift on the roster, the mission remains the same for the divisional king -- to defend his belt at all costs.
