All pumped up after fashioning out a winning debut in ONE Championship last week, Tammi Musumeci is eyeing a return to action at the soonest possible time.

The elder sister of ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci defeated fellow Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Bianca Basilio by unanimous decision at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video on March 24 in Singapore.

It was the maiden ONE outing for 28-year-old Tammi Musumeci, who prior to joining the promotion was a decorated BJJ athlete while representing the United States in international competitions.

In her post-event interview, Tammi said she had a grand time in her debut fight and could not wait for her next match against anybody to be put in front of her:

“I’m down for whenever though. I’m really pumped. This was a great experience, and I would definitely want to do it as soon as possible.”

Tammi Musumeci also shared that, like her brother Mikey Musumeci, she is setting her sights on winning a world title or two on her ONE Championship journey.

Outside of competition, Tammi is a lawyer. Despite splitting time between her day job and BJJ, she has accomplished a lot as a submission grappler.

Among her recent achievements prior to joining ONE was winning the 2022 IBJJF No-Gi world title last December.

Mikey Musumeci shares happiness for sister Tammi Musumeci’s debut win in ONE Championship

American submission grappling ace Tammi Musumeci recently made a successful ONE debut. Among the first to celebrate the win was her brother, Mikey Musumeci.

Tammi defeated Brazilian Bianca Basilio by unanimous decision in their tightly fought grappling showdown at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video. It was the first win of many that Tammi Musumeci is hoping to chalk up as she begins her ONE Championship journey. It also showcased her top-level skills to an even wider audience.

Mikey Musumeci, the reigning ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion, was incredibly proud of what her elder sister showed in her promotional debut. He took to Instagram to pay tribute to her, writing:

"Tammi wins her @onechampionship debut!!!! So freaking proud of her. 😭She wakes up 4:30 a.m. everyday to do cardio before working as a lawyer, does stairs in the middle of the day at her job, and then trains at night immediately after work!"

Mikey continued:

"No one works harder than my sister. She inspires me so much. Can’t wait for us to be on the same card together ❤️. I want to thank @rlo702jj for helping her prepare while I was overseas; he is an amazing coach and friend."

Tammi Musumeci, who also works as a lawyer, started in jiu-jitsu at an early age and has won at all levels while playing the sport. She is now looking to translate that success in ONE Championship.
