'The Kicking Machine' and 'The Natural Born Crusher' lived up to the fans' expectations, and they went to war for a full five rounds. Superlek punished Takeru with his signature kicks and made mince meat out of his leg.
It was not only a one-sided affair, though. The former three-division K1 champion also had his moments during the match, especially in the third round when he almost scored a knockdown against the reigning ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion when he clipped the Thai superstar with a body shot and several punches to the head.
Eventually, Superlek secured the convincing unanimous decision victory to spoil Takeru's promotional debut.
Fans couldn't get enough of this incredible see-saw battle among the two striking stars, as users @larry6795, @sethsoderman5162, @marvinowen5670, and @kenmasters6438 sent their reactions through their comments:
"That was a barn burner, both tough as nails 👏🏽"
"Damn good fight"
"Congratulations to both warriors. But Superlek is a Supreme Level fighter. Like the Final Boss in every game you play you need cheats to defeat him 😂"
"it's easy to miss, but it was the left kick to the body by Takeru at 7:39 that hit Superlek straight in the liver to change the momentum of the fight. Superlek tried to play it off but he was hurt bad. it ook him a little time to show it, and then Takeru was all over him. Superlek was so hurt to the body that he was willing to sacrifice his head, not covering it but only the body. takes a true warrior to keep standing and take it."

Superlek to defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai crown against Nico Carrillo at ONE 170
One year after his fantastic win over the Japanese superstar, the Kiatmoo9 Gym representative will now put his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai crown on the line against the number two-ranked division contender Nico Carrillo in the co-main event of ONE 170 on Jan. 24 at Impact Arena.
This marks the reigning two-sport world champion's first defense of this bantamweight Muay Thai crown after beating Jonathan Haggerty last September at ONE 168: Denver with a highlight-reel first-round knockout.
