Jackie Buntan won't be content with just one piece of ONE Championship gold.
The Filipino-American star will face the legendary Anissa Meksen at the stacked ONE 169 card for the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world title on Nov. 8, US primetime, at the historic Lumpinee Stadium.
A natural Muay Thai artist, Buntan said she plans to add the now-vacant ONE women's strawweight Muay Thai world title if she gets her hand raised against Meksen in Bangkok.
Jackie Buntan said in an interview with ONE Championship:
"Yeah, that would be the goal. First things first, win this belt first this weekend and then next year, be active, defend the belt, go for the Muay Thai belt. Whatever it may be."
Buntan already challenged for the ONE women's strawweight Muay Thai world title when ONE Championship inaugurated the strap at ONE 156 in April 2022.
The California native, however, lost her bid at the gold when she lost to eventual holder Smilla Sundell via unanimous decision.
Nevertheless, Buntan recovered to the tune of a three-fight winning streak.
Buntan regained her form with stellar wins against Amber Kitchen, Diandra Martin, and Martine Michieletto.
She now heads into arguably the biggest fight of her career when he faces the French-Algerian icon.
Meksen is often considered one of the greatest strikers of all time, with 'C18' holding a mind-boggling 103-6 professional record.
The 36-year-old also held world titles under WBC Muay Thai, Glory, Kunlun, and Enfusion.
ONE 169 is available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
Jackie Buntan confident her aggressive style would spell disaster for Anissa Meksen
Jackie Buntan has always fought at a high pace, and she's confident her technical yet powerful style would be a huge problem for Anissa Meksen at ONE 169.
The 27-year-old is 6-1 in ONE Championship, with all wins showcasing her brand of calculated aggression.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Buntan said she uses a style that Meksen has yet to encounter in her legendary career.
Buntan said:
"I know I'm just as good. I know she hasn't fought anybody like me. Stylistically, we're both at the top as combat sport athletes, both females."
