When looking at the fight itself, John Lineker vs. Fabricio Andrade delivered on its expectations for as long as it lasted. Unfortunately, an unintentional foul forced the fight to end in a disappointing and unsatisfying way when it was declared a no contest.

After Andrade’s impressive performance against the former champion, everyone wants to know when he is getting another shot at the belt. ‘Wonder Boy’ is currently the No.1-ranked bantamweight in ONE Championship and after the fight ended the way it did, he returned to training camp immediately.

With the prospect of a huge rematch between the two Brazilians on the cards, SCMP MMA spoke to Andrade about the possibility of facing Lineker once again, potentially on the January card. Andrade said:

“I think that would not be possible for him. I think he needs time to recover. But ONE Championship is really pushing to make this fight happen. And I heard from some people that he’s in to do the rematch so that’s going to happen very soon.”

Whilst John Lineker vs. Fabricio Andrade may be the single biggest rematch possible right now in ONE Championship, the winner of Stephen Loman vs. Bibiano Fernandes will also be in a great place to fight for the world championship following ONE on Prime Video 4.

“Reflect about everything” - Fabricio Andrade sought solitude in Malaysia after John Lineker fight

In the aftermath of a dramatic fight week leading up to his clash with John Lineker, Fabricio Andrade needed some time to himself after the fight to return to normality.

Despite a performance that announced Fabricio Andrade to the world, he couldn’t help but reflect on how he was seemingly minutes away from becoming a world champion until he landed an unintentional foul.

The fight was ruled a no contest after a low blow in round three broke Lineker's protective cup and rendered him unable to continue.

Though he canceled the vast majority of his holiday plans, ‘Wonder Boy’ did take some time to visit Malaysia and decompress before jumping back into the fire. In an interview with The MMA Superfan, Andrade explained his post-fight practices:

"I decided to go around and refresh my mind a little bit. I think that even in the fight, I was a little bit rushing too much. I wanted to finish the fight as soon as I could. That’s why it ended up the way it was. It was a good experience for me to just see all those details. After the fight, I was upset, so I needed some time to just be by myself, calm my mind, and reflect about everything."
