The MMA community recently exhibited their views on Dillon Danis's appreciative statement for Conor McGregor. Danis's shout-out for McGregor came after Ilia Topuria's victory over Max Holloway at UFC 308.
There was a time when McGregor used to rule the UFC's featherweight division. 'The Notorious' made his UFC debut as a featherweight in 2013. He also put together a five-fight win streak starting right from his first UFC encounter. The next two fights of McGregor's career had him winning the interim featherweight gold and unifying it to become the undisputed featherweight champ.
Currently, the UFC featherweight gold is in Ilia Topuria's possession. But Danis's tweet mentioned that he still counts McGregor as the greatest featherweight in the history of the UFC. He wrote:
"Make no mistake, @TheNotoriousMMA [Conor McGregor's X handle] is the greatest featherweight of all time and still the lineal champion. End of discussion."

However, a sizeable chunk of fans refuted Danis' opinion or gave him grief for sharing it. A subsection of fans also derided him with a few pleasantries in the comments section.
One such comment read:
"The biggest D*CK rider the sport has ever seen, lol"
Others penned:
"Aldo, Volk, Max and Ilia are all better featherweights than him"
"L take"
"He had the greatest run, but he’s not the greatest"

Ilia Topuria took a severe dig at Conor McGregor after his UFC 308 victory
The beef between Ilia Topuria and Conor McGregor started before UFC 308. But it is showing no signs of ending even after Topuria's victory.
The current UFC featherweight champ's superb performance at UFC 308 got McGregor's attention. He chose to diss Topuria via a now-deleted tweet that read:
"Good little fighter, too small for anything substantial, imo. He was getting chewed up there."

Topuria didn't take much time to return McGregor's favors. After his UFC 308 victory, 'El Matador' caught up with ESPN's Brett Okamoto for an interview, where he provided a befitting reply to McGregor's words.
"I don’t know what to say. He’s [McGregor's] fake. He fakes the comeback every time. He insults everyone in the UFC... So ask to God you don’t cross paths with me, never ever. Because I’m gonna f**k you up whenever I gonna see you."
