Fabricio Andrade believes lightning will strike twice when he squares off against 'Pretty Boy' Kwon Won Il at ONE 170 inside the Impact Arena on Jan. 24.
The ONE bantamweight MMA world champion finished the South Korean standout in just 62 seconds when they crossed paths at ONE 158 in June 2022, and he's got a good feeling that this one could be an identical night at the office.
Speaking exclusively to Sportskeeda MMA as he preps for his world title assignment on Jan. 24, Fabricio Andrade explained just why he doesn't mind biting more than he can chew against Kwon:
"It's one of those things, you know, the confidence that comes from becoming a champion. I'm not trying to talk too much about whether I can beat him or whether I'm better than him or anything. I mean, I showed it in the first fight. And based on that, the confidence to do it again is there."
As good as Kwon has been since he absorbed that cruel body shot, on a roll of three successive wins now, 'Wonder Boy' is levels ahead of anyone Kwon has faced throughout his run.
The Evolve MMA and Tiger Muay Thai affiliate rarely takes a wrong step when he competes on the global stage, and his striking dexterity only further compliments his aggressive style.
Above all, entertainment has been a permanent feature in Andrade's fights, and there's no doubt that he'll pack that in abundance on fight night.
Fabricio Andrade says a late KO against Kwon in rematch works best for him
Fabricio Andrade never wastes time when an opportunity for a finish is there for the taking. But if he has it his way, he'd prefer to put away his opposite number much deeper into the match this time around.
Talking about how he'd ideally like to finish this tie, Andrade shared in the same interview:
"To be honest, I'm not specifically looking for the [early] KO, you know. I need more time inside the circle as well."
North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription can catch the entire ONE 170 card for free on Friday, Jan. 24.
