Boxer Ryan Garcia has once again stirred controversy ahead of his upcoming championship fight with Devin Haney. 'KingRy' accused his opponent of committing a "hate crime" during a heated altercation.

The incident occurred at the top of the Empire State Building during a promotional event for their bout scheduled for this Saturday at Barclays Center. Garcia alleged that Haney touched him without content. In a post on his social media, the boxer wrote:

“Devin touched me without my consent I'm suing him for putting his hands on me. And I Identify as a woman, So he touched me as a Grown man and hit a Grown woman. And I’m lgbtq+. So now it’s a hate crime. Nah this is SO F****D UP."

This accusation adds to the boxer's recent erratic behavior over his social media handles, which include posting cryptic and disturbing content about his purported death and other conspiracy theories.

Concerns about Garcia's mental health have been raised, culminating in a request from the New York State Athletic Commission for him to undergo a mental health evaluation, which he reportedly passed.

Despite the controversy, Garcia has been cleared to compete in the upcoming fight, as confirmed in a post on his social media account.

Ryan Garcia's manager weighs in on 'KingRy's recent antics

As the highly anticipated WBC super lightweight bout between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia approaches, tensions have reached new heights, with Garcia's recent antics drawing more attention.

Oscar De La Hoya, Garcia's manager, weighed in on the situation, attributing Garcia's psychological tactics to the success of the upcoming event. Speaking to Ariel Helwani in The MMA Hour, De La Hoya stated:

"He is the cash cow. He is the money-maker. We'll have a sell-out crowd here at Barclays. The pay-per-views are going to go through the roof. It's going to be crazy and it's all because of Ryan. Yeah, he is fighting a top-world champion, who is serious, who wants to be great as well, who is a master boxer, but look at what Ryan has done to him psychologically."

Adding further, the Golden Boy founder said:

"Devin Haney pushing Ryan at the Empire State Building when they meet. I've never seen that from Devin. I think he's a little rattled. So, Ryan's doing something that only he knows he's doing and he's getting under his skin."
