UFC 283 location: Everything you need to know about Brazil's Jeunesse Arena

UFC 283 scheduled for January 21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will be held at one of the most coveted multi-purpose indoor stadiums in the world, Jeunesse Arena. The indoor complex is located in the Barra da Tijuca region of Rio de Janeiro.

Formerly known as Arena Olimpica do Rio, the arena was officially opened in 2007 to host the Pan American games 2007. The indoor complex was renamed the Jeunesse Arena when American cosmetics company Jeunesse Global secured the naming rights in 2017.

According to an article by GL events, the Arena can host up to 18,000 fans during various sporting and entertainment events. The arena also holds 28 meeting rooms and 2,400 square meters of exhibition space.

The venue has hosted various major sports and entertainment events, including the 2007 Pan American Games Gymnastics and Basketball events, and the 2016 Summer Olympics Gymnastics events among a few.

Jeunesse Arena has also hosted various UFC events, including UFC 134, which was the premier MMA promotion's second ever event in Brazil.

As per Sportsmatik, the venue played the host during pop sensation Miley Cyrus' first concert in Brazil. Canadian singer Shawn Mendez and British rock band Queen have also performed in the Arena.

Recently, Brazilian pop rock band Jota Quest performed in the Arena as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations.


UFC 283: Expected fights

The UFC 283 pay-per-view (PPV) is rumored to be headlined by the flyweight title clash between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno. This will be the fourth time both men will be facing each other in the world-famous UFC octagon.

Both men currently hold one victory against the other, while their first meeting ended in a draw.

According to a report by MMA Mania, bona fide UFC legend and former light-heavyweight champion Maurico 'Shogun' Rua will be making UFC return for what could be his final fight against Ihor Potieria at UFC 283.

In an Instagram post, UFC light-heavyweight Johnny Walker confirmed that he'll be fighting Paul Craig on the January 21 Brazil card. Walker currently holds the No. 11 spot in the 205lbs division while Craig holds the number nine spot.
